Former Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces General Riho Terras Joins the Supervisory Board of SensusQ
Former Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces, General Riho Terras, joins the advisory board of the Estonian defence-tech company SensusQ. In his new role, general Terras will advise the company's management and support SensusQ's continued growth and expansion with his extensive international experience and expertise.
"Defence requires balanced investments – there is a need for munitions and equipment, but with ever more complex situations arising, the clearer the need for everything digital becomes. SensusQ’s system, based on artificial intelligence, helps to synthesise information from multiple sources into comprehensive intelligence, and solutions like these are becoming more important with each passing day," said Riho Terras. "I am delighted to be able to contribute to the growth of the next triumph of the Estonian defence industry."
Riho Terras was the permanent secretary of Estonia’s Ministry of Defence from 2008-2010, Commander of the Defence Forces from 2011-2018, and he has been elected as a Member of the European Parliament several times. In the course of his career, he has also served as Chief of Staff of the Estonian Defence League, Estonian Defence Attaché in Germany and Poland, Chief of the Analysis and Planning Department of Estonian Defence Forces, and Chief of Staff of the Joint Headquarters.
"Riho Terras has worked at the highest level in the defence field and has seen first-hand how allied governments make decisions. As a defence company actively growing in the international market, this knowledge and experience will support our ambitions and help our technology reach the right hands," said Marko Kaseleht, co-founder and CEO of SensusQ.
SensusQ is developing an artificial intelligence-based system that combines information gathered from different sources – such as drone images, big data, and intelligence – into clearly understandable information. The system helps to make information flows more efficient, allows faster decision-making, and gives the responsible parties more time to act. In the near future, SensusQ also aims to provide a solution for other civilian sectors that work with large amounts of data.
