What we do

SensusQ helps decision-makers operate in high-risk environments by providing decision-making support software. The product fuses real-time structured and unstructured data with existing information/intelligence. In addition, it provides a structured data architecture, reporting, and sharing environment for the community responsible for information management and decision-making.

What kind of role is it?

Quite senior. Everyone in the team learns from each other, but you’ll need to be confident in your speciality. Be confident enough to say “I don’t know”, independent enough to say “give me {time} and I can find out”. You get to do your own part. But you should give input on the whole and how your part fits into it.

Tech we use

  • Go, TypeScript and React are central to our development
  • A combination of open-source and internal technologies that suit the problems at hand
  • Industry-standard build tooling, including TeamCity, Terraform, Ansible

What we need your help with

  • Design and implement real-time data and processing systems within sizing, bandwidth, and latency requirements
  • Build new components and services from scratch and improve existing systems

You may fit the role if you

  • You are a strong coder. Regardless of which frameworks you use or how you learned them, we’re looking for people who can write clean, dry and effective code. You should already have proficiency in the technology stack we use and an understanding of how web technologies work
  • Ability to write legible, maintainable, and performant code that adheres to well-documented coding standards. We care about your engineering skill and your reasoning behind them
  • Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools
  • Know how to see the big picture. Your code will go into multiple systems in multiple countries in various environment
  • Understanding of how technical decisions impact the people who will use what you're building
  • Understand the complexity in the world and are able to think about the relations and the reasons behind them
  • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals. We have non-technical specialists embedded in the team. The tech people learn from them and they learn from the tech people.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.

You will

  • Help design and build scalable and robust solutions
  • Cooperate with internal and external developers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Provide expertise in improving existing product structure, process function, user interface, and experience
  • Design and implement real-time data and processing systems within sizing, bandwidth, and latency requirements
  • Design and implement backend services and APIs for our user-facing applications
  • Build new components and services from scratch and improve existing systems
  • Work closely with the product development team to determine the direction of software development, solutions, and product offerings

  • Design and manage our visual design together with our product management team
  • Cooperate with engineering team to deliver high-quality graphic and visual design
  • Optimize applications for performance

You may fit the role if you

  • Strong modern Javascript fundamentals
